Big Daddy Weave – The Lion And The Lamb

They will follow the Lord; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west.

Hosea 11:10

In 2012, the LORD revealed the power of speaking His Word over my life.  It was through mighty servants of God, who have been teaching this wisdom, that this understanding came to be known. It changed everything!  I was reminded that Jesus spoke the Word of God to Satan when He was in the desert, Joshua meditated (muttered) on the Word of God as the Israelites took possession of the Promise Land and we are called blessed if we also meditate (mutter) on His Word.  After gathering a collection of powerful verses, I began speaking the Word everyday. (These verses are listed in Speaking the Word – Healing of The Spirit.)  Some of them are David’s war prayers, crying out to God for justice over his enemies.

In February 2018, I was teaching an adult Sunday School class, on the subject, “The Power of Speaking the Word of God.” I asked the LORD, "How do I explain these war scriptures...what are they?” He replied, “Google them.” (I love His simplicity!)  So I did!  Upon typing the words, “war scriptures,” what came up on my search was a total shock. They are called Imprecatory Scriptures or The Curses of God.

“Curses? What? I have been speaking curses all theses years!!  LORD, have mercy!  Oh God, the Church doesn’t want to talk about these scriptures; they mostly talk about the Lamb, love and forgiveness.  I’ve never heard this before.” He gently said, “Beth, I am a two sided coin: I AM the Lamb AND the Lion.  Sadly, my people do not want to talk about the Lion.  It makes them afraid. They want only one side of me.  If my creation refuses the Lamb then I HAVE to be the Lion; it is their choice.  Both are love and mercy, both are the completeness of who I AM.  One is forgiveness of sins and the other judgment, because I do not want to live eternally without them. I would rather judge the hearts of men here on earth than judge them for all eternity.  But if you are a follower of Christ, you will desire ALL of Me.

Remember, I judged your heart full of apostasy and rebellion so that your soul would not perish, because you refused the Lamb. I came to you time and time again as the Lamb, but you ignored by voice.  It was your choice.  So, the Lion had to come with tribulation to get your attention. After the calamity, you ran to the Lamb and now these past 20 years, I have been teaching you about the fullness of who I AM – the Lion and the Lamb.”

Interesting to note that the word “judge” in Hebrew/Greek means someone who corrects, disciplines, rebukes, guides and directs along the path.

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne.

Psalm 89:14

“I understand LORD.  Since I have to teach on these verses, are there any books written on this subject?” I asked.  He said, “Google it.” (He can use anything, anyone at anytime!)

So I did.  And what came up on my search again was a total surprise! I gasped when I saw the Lion head in the clouds.  God is so amazing! This is a beautifully written book about the imprecatory scriptures of God. The author states that the Saints will usher in the Glory of God as they declare the imprecatory psalms; warring with the principalities of darkness.

Like I said, He will use anything to confirm His Word.  And He has continued to faithfully confirm this Word over and over.  What an awesome God!

Later, on Tuesday March 13th, 2018, by a mighty, miraculous act of God, He confirmed His Word and said, "I am giving my people permission to speak the imprecatory scriptures against the enemies of God.  To my total shock, I discovered that March 13th was also the 13th day of the month of Adar and also the week of Purim - the Jewish celebration when the Jews were permitted by the King's edict to defend themselves against their enemies during the reign of Esther.  And praise God they were victorious!! Today, King Jesus is giving His people the same edict, the same permission to be victorious! Hallelujah!

DAVID’S PURE HEART

Moses and Joshua both spoke God’s Word to the Israelites regarding blessings and curses, “If you love, serve and obey God, then He will give YOUR enemies into your hands, but if you do not, then He will give YOU into the hands of your enemies.” David knew this Word from God; blessings were given to those with a pure heart.  He possessed a meek and teachable heart which longed to be blameless and pure before God.  From that position, came boldness and confidence that the curses of God were not on his own head, but on his enemies. I call this Davidical Warfare.  He was faithful and believed God’s Word regarding those who obey; those who follow God’s commands and love Him with all of their heart and strength. So, David had all authority and confidence to ask God to be faithful to what He had promised regarding his enemies.

This is the same Word for the Saints today, through the precious Blood of Jesus. This Blood cancels all curses over us and we are declared holy.  We then possess full authority and confidence to ask God to be faithful to what He has promised regarding the enemies of the righteous.

The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction, but flee from you in seven.

Deuteronomy 28:7

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. But those who hate him he will repay to their face by destruction; he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him.

Deuteronomy 7:9-10

Repay them for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back on them what they deserve.

Psalm 28:4

THESE ARE GOD’S CURSES

Let's be very clear, these are God's curses spoken from His own mouth, not our own curses spoken from our mouths. Imprecatory means the curses of GOD, not the curses of men. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, from Moses to Peter, the Word is full of imprecatory scriptures. David was asking God to fulfill HIS curses on David’s enemies - God’s justice against the wicked. David did not curse his enemies with a vile heart, nor did he curse them with his own words. He did not divide the Kingdom of Israel with a wicked tongue.  He repeated what God said, based on the right standing He had with God.  We are not to curse others with our own words, but bless them and pray for them.  However, we have every right to ask and declare before God to fulfill His curses on the wicked.  David is a great biblical example of swinging the spiritual sword against principalities of darkness and the wicked who are earthly agents of darkness...this is Davidical Warfare.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

Romans 12:14

THIS IS GOD’S VENGEANCE

Again, let's be very clear, when we declare the imprecatory scriptures we are asking for God's vengeance on our enemies not our own vengeance.

David did not curse nor did he take vengeance on his enemies. As stated before, his pure heart did not want to divide, but he trusted in God’s sovereign justice. We as followers of Christ are commanded to refrain from revenge, but we have full permission to ask God to avenge. In the imprecatory scriptures, this is what we find, a pleading for God’s promised hand of vengeance.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Romans 12:15, 17-29

The imprecatory scriptures are like the pleas of a child who just got beat up by a bully. “Daddy, could you go beat up the bully like you promised, because I can’t. They are too big and too powerful and I will get angry and sin and want to punch their lights out.”

“Yes, son, that is MY job, not yours. I will bring justice, on your behalf, because I love you and you are my son.”

This child had full authority to call on his father’s word, because he was his son.

Jesus said He would give His people authority with the rod of iron (the Sword) to break the nation’s to pieces; not in our own vengeance, but His righteous vengeance, His wrath, His judgment.  Jesus is the Lion of Judah - the Word of God.  He is the imprecatory scriptures; the judgments of God.

He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:4b

Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, to carry out the sentence written against them— this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the Lord.

Psalm 149:5-9

UNDERSTANDING THE KING’S EDICT

The Word of God is the King’s edict, which cannot be revoked. It is given to God’s people as a spiritual Sword. Just as the King’s edit in the book of Esther was a “sword,” used against the enemies of the Jews. It could not be revoked as it had been sealed with the King’s signet ring. The Word of God has been sealed or engraved by the Blood of Jesus. Therefore, the imprecatory scriptures are the King’s edict!

Let’s go on a rabbit trail for a minute. A seal also means a mark. In Revelation, the Saints will receive a seal on their foreheads and the beast from the earth will copycat God’s work by forcing the world to take a seal on their hands or foreheads as well. We are not in that season yet, but getting close.

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

Isaiah 49:16

Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.

Revelation 7:3

So that no one could buy or sell unless he had the seal.

Revelation 13:1a

DEFEND

The King’s edict was given to the Jews to defend themselves against the enemies of God who wanted to destroy them. The imprecatory scriptures are given to God’s people, by King Jesus and sealed by His blood, to be used against the enemies of God for offense and defense.

This edict will defend families, churches, schools, governments, cities, nations, and borders. We are to mutter them daily.

ESTHER

The Jews stood on the King’s edict which was written by Queen Esther and Mordecai and sealed with the King's signet ring. They triumphed over those who wanted to wipe them out. King Jesus is giving His people permission to stand on His edict – the imprecatory scriptures which are sealed in His blood, to triumph over the wicked who hate them and desire their annihilation.

The edict commanded by the king was to be carried out. On this day the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, but now the tables were turned and the Jews got the upper hands over those who hated them.

Esther 9:1

VOID

A king’s edit is his word and cannot be canceled. It will be accomplished and nothing can stand against that word.  It is sealed!  And just like God's Word, it cannot return to Him void.  It will accomplish that which it was sent to do.

JUSTICE

If a thief robed your house, wouldn’t you want justice?  We are not allowed to judge the thief in court, for there is a already a judge who upholds the law and issues punishment.

THIS is what we are asking God to do.  Bring justice, be the judge and uphold YOUR decree.

LOVE

I am going to repeat and summarize the wisdom of the imprecatory scriptures. We are called to love our enemies and bless them. And yes, we have been given a spiritual Sword to use for offense and defense against wicked who wish to destroy us, however, we are NOT to curse them with our OWN words, or take vengeance on them. We are asking God to bring forth His curses and take vengeance on the wicked through HIS own Word/Edict.

FIGHT

May we refuse to lay down and let the enemies of God kill, steal and destroy when King Jesus has given us full authority in His name and a mighty Sword to swing.  What would have happened if the Jews had not believed the King’s edict and refused to fight. They would have been wiped out!  God’s mighty Sword must go before the army of God.  Believe it, stand on it and declare it!

To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’ —just as I have received authority from my Father.”

Revelation 2:26-27

THE WICKED SHALL REPENT

People say, “Don't speak the imprecatory scriptures against the wicked..that’s cruel.

What do you want?  Would you rather the wicked be judged on earth or for eternity in hell? Would you rather they encounter the Lion on earth or be without the Lamb of God for eternity? We have a spiritual and moral responsibility to pray for their soul.  God has given us this powerful Sword to war against the PRINCIPALITIES of darkness on their behalf.  The curses of God are on the house of the wicked, because it is what THEY have chosen.  If they refuse the Lamb, then He has to be the Lion.

The LORD”S curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.

Proverbs 3:33

Gods curses rest on those who reject Christ - the Lamb.  We are repeating what God has said.

These imprecatory scriptures are also a warning to the wicked to repent.  We are not calling down our own curses on the heads of the wicked, we are calling down the justice of God's Word to be fulfilled, so that the Prince.of darkness ..the enemies of God may be defeated and wickedness turned to righteousness. THAT is the purpose of God’s judgment in Revelation – to turn the hard hearts of the wicked to repentance.

BOOMERANG

WARNING

1. We are not to battle with flesh and blood, fist to fist, mouth against mouth, or anything revengeful or violent. This is not an actual sword, but the Word of God. These scriptures are not to be spoken to a person’s face or used to justify our own violence. We should speak them under our breadth, in our home, in our car or closet, but never to another's face for vengeance or wrath. We are wielding the Sword against principalities of darkness. Vengeance is the LORD’s.

2. It is very wise to ask the LORD to judge our heart FIRST before we ask God to judge another, by speaking these scriptures, lest we be judged by the Word and these scriptures boomerang on us.  It is, also, wise to declare Jesus' Righteousness, and His Blood over our life and repent for whatever He lays on our heart.  PAUL says..TEACH me, reproof me, discipline my heart that I may repent and continue to bear fruit. Remember, DISCIPLE comes from the word discipline.  To be a disciple of Jesus is to be teachable and willing to be corrected and disciplined.  Speak and pray 1 Corinthians 11:31-32 before asking for God's holy judgement on another...otherwise, the Word of God may boomerang and come back on us.

We are not to judge each other, but we do have full authority from God through the scriptures to ask God to judge the hearts of wicked men.  So pray before speaking these imprecatory scriptures, "LORD, judge my heart first, lest I be condemned with the world."

But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

1 Corinthians 11:31-32

This is the Kings edict: rise up Oh Army of God, swing the mighty Sword, speak these imprecatory scriptures against the enemies of God for He is the Lion and the Lamb.

As the bride of Christ ...It is your authority.

So rise up Oh Army of God and take your rightful place.

May the Lion of Judah come.
