Authority
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the AUTHORITY of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night has been hurled down. They overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
Revelation 12:10-11a
Jesus gave the saints complete authority to conquer the dragon by the Blood of Jesus and the Word of God. We have authority to take dominion. That powerful word “overcome” in Greek means to subdue, overpower, prevail and be victorious. Then, why do we crouch in fear of what the Devil is doing and speak of his attacks when we have full authority over him? He is an ant beneath our feet! We shall not give him credit or speak of his actions, but give ONLY Jesus credit for His works and speak ONLY what God says in His Word. We shall speak words of faith instead of words of fear. And those words of faith shall be the Word of God, the Sword coming out of our mouths, which the Devil cannot stand up against.
For who is he that strives against God’s people? For God says, “He who wars against you, I will war against. You will look for your enemies and not find them. They will be as nothing at all.” Isaiah 41:11-12
INABILITY TO TAKE AUTHORITY
It is difficult to take authority over the enemy when our hearts possess unrepented sin and we are refusing to take responsibility for the miry muck (or crap, but I don’t want to offend anyone, but I think Jesus uses that word in reference to sin) in own hearts. We are then in no position to stand and take on an enemy. How can we battle the Devil when we have got a battle of sin raging in our own hearts? Our pride, self-righteousness, fear, anger, hatred, slander/gossip, bitterness, resentment, criticalness, accusations, division, murder, thievery, condemnation, jealousy, idolatry, deceit, disrespecting/dishonoring our husbands, failing to love our wives and sexual immorality, do not put us in a position of authority. How can we take on he who is lawless, when we are lawless?
STOP LOOKING OVER THERE
If we keep looking at what the enemy is doing, we will never look at the Word of God, the Blood of Jesus and then stand and take authority. We’ll be shaking in our boots. The Devil’s deeds will keep us in fear and discouragement to speak the Word. The Sword will not be swung. So, stop looking over there at the enemy’s camp. Only look at Jesus! For He gives us power, strength and wisdom to stand and take authority.
Fix your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.
Proverbs 4:25
MEEK, HUMBLE AND REPENTANT

To him who overcomes, and does my will to the end, TO HIM I WILL GIVE AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS. He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery, just as I have received authority from my Father.
Revelation 2:26-27
Our meekness, humbleness and repentant heart before God protects us from the enemy and places us in authority. The Devil can’t stand before us and accuse, because we are already owning our crap and refusing to blame others or make excuses. When we are willing to let Christ discipline and cleanse us of our sin, then we have overcome the Devil and can now take authority over principalities of darkness. This meek position is powerful; our hearts laid open before Jesus, the Teacher. May we ask the Teacher to instruct us so that we can see and hear what lies deep within our own hearts. Remember, the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. The enemy knows this. War then, with pure hearts and with the authority of Christ. Declare the Blood of Jesus and the Word of God over health, life, family, tribe, children, marriage, work, finances, church, school, city, state, and nation. Then we shall prevail and conquer the dragon!
The meek shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5
